The #YouAreWelcomeHere award came out of a commitment by US universities to welcome international students, and UTulsa funds two of them a year. Each one covers 50% of tuition and renews for up to four years of autumn and spring study while you hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
Only first-year international applicants qualify, so transfer students should look at Tulsa's other international awards instead. Beyond admission, the university wants evidence that you have taken initiative in intercultural learning and exchange.
The application is separate from admission. You complete the #YouAreWelcomeHere form and submit either a 500 to 1,000 word essay or a two to five minute video answering one prompt: tell us about your leadership in your school or community, and how you plan to keep applying it at The University of Tulsa. Materials go to your status page or to international@utulsa.edu.
Timing matters. UTulsa has set the cut-off in mid-March and announces its two winners at the end of the month.
