About the Scholarship

Wartburg College awards international students $13,000 to $20,500 a year, weighing academic record, participation in music, sport or drama, community service and financial need together.

The deadlines pay. Applying by 15 November adds $500 a year automatically, and completing the scholarship interview adds another $500 guaranteed. The January round still carries the $500 for applying, but there the interview bonus comes only as the budget allows, so the earlier date is worth money.

Two conditions to plan for. Students are expected to live on campus to keep full eligibility, and the college requires its own financial aid form or the CSS Profile rather than the American federal form. The 480 threshold is the paper test score for the college's bridge programme, whose students are formally admitted to the degree and so meet the scholarship's admission precondition; 550 is the higher bar for regular admission, not for the scholarship.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$13,000 to $20,500 an academic year, renewable on a cumulative grade average of 2.0. Applying by 15 November adds $500 a year and completing the scholarship interview adds a further $500; applying by 15 January carries the same $500 as funds allow. Students are expected to live on campus to keep full eligibility.

Eligibility

Meeting admission requirements with a TOEFL score of at least 480 on the paper test, except as authorised by the associate director for international admissions. That is the college's floor for admission at all, through its bridge programme, whose students are formally admitted to the degree. Renewal needs a cumulative grade average of 2.0 or higher, and students are expected to live on campus and finish the degree within four nine-month terms.

Eligible Countries

The college states that on meeting admission requirements international students may be awarded scholarships in this range.

How to Apply
